Adult Learning at the Nexus of Life Course, Work & Transitions

The Symposium will take place in room NG 1.741 on the first upper level (1. OG) of the Side Building (Nebengebäude) at the IG-Farben Building on Goethe University’s Westend Campus, Gisèle-Freund-Platz 1, 60323 Frankfurt am Main. The easiest way to get there is by underground (U1/2/3/8 to Holzhausenstraße/Uni Campus Westend) or by bus (route 36 to Uni Campus Westend or route 64 to Bremer Straße). Feel free to follow this link for a pin on Google Maps.

Getting to Frankfurt and the Campus

Train from the main station (Hauptbahnhof): Take the underground, route U4 (Seckbacher Landstraße direction) or U5 (Preungesheim direction) and leave at the next stop (Willy-Brandt-Platz). From there, take the route U1, U2, U3 or U8 (note: all directions but the Südbahnhof direction) and get off the train at Holzhausenstraße/Uni Campus Westend. From there it’s a 5-minute walk to the campus.

Alternatively, you can take the underground route S1/2/3/4/5/6/8/9 from the main station (Hauptbahnhof) to Hauptwache and change to the underground route U1, U2, U3, or U8 (all directions but the Südbahnhof direction).

Please note: some long-distance trains only stop at the airport. Take the regional trains (S-Bahn) S8 or S9 from there towards Frankfurt and stay on the train until you have reached Hauptwache and change to the underground route U1, U2, U3, or U8 (all directions but the Südbahnhof direction).

Airplane: Frankfurt International Airport is served by all major airlines and well connected with the regional train S-Bahn (routes S8 and S9). Follow the airport signs to the regional station Regionalbahnhof (S), Terminal 1, B Concourse, Level 0. Trains to the main station and Frankfurt City go every 15 minutes, usually from platform 1; you need to buy a ticket from a vending machine before boarding the train.

Tickets have to be bought from ticket machines immediately before boarding the train, tram, or bus. The machines accept coins and bank notes (€5, €10). The tickets are valid throughout the town on buses, trams, underground, and regional trains. For more information, see the route map and the RMV website.

Car: If you travel by car, please note that there is only a very limited number of non-residential parking spots in the adjacent streets. Palmengarten parking garage is the closest parking garage.
